Identity crysis

"Stay a while, and listen!"
-A wise old man

Video games have been around for around 3 decades, and yet its still a kind of taboo. Over its time of evolution there have been people who have trashed and praised video games, but most of the time it's never identified for what it is.

Oculus Rift - Lego Team Blue

Another long time before I have posted anything on this blog of mine.

During my 2nd semester at the University of Texas at Dallas, I had taken Prof. Ryan McMahan's Virtual Reality course. During that course we were introduced to the world of virtual reality.

For the course we had to develop a simulator to achieve a given task. This was done in teams. We had been given the task of simulating Lego and its construction.

Guitar Tab Notes

I had recently done a project related to music for one of my courses in college and found it difficult to find good guitar audio notes online. As in each Tab, on the guitar (Tuned to EADGBE). So I had to record it myself, which took ages (around 3 hours), and I didn't have an ideal set-up. I'm not really an audio engineer, I just used audocity and a uni-directional mic, pointing to my guitar and recorded each note, and saved exactly 2 seconds of each.

This might be useful to someone else out there so here is the download link:

Project Requirements:
-Using all the ideas discussed in class, come up with an innovative system to artistically represent any concept discussed in class.

The Lonely Electron - 48 Hour Build

Hi! As most of you may know, or some of you do, I recent went to a 48 hour Game Development Jam. Me, Brendan and Bragadish developed this 2D puzzle platformer in 48 hours (more like 28 hours, we were goofing around the rest of the time). Anyways, we used Unity 3D to develop it, and we are slowing adding more features and updating it.

Well, here is version 1.0, beat it if you can =D

Windows:

Please do report any bugs you find, I know there are some collision bugs, some are intentional some are not, we are working on that and optimizing many things. I guess within a week we would make an updated version, with about 4-5 more levels (We already have some additional levels ready to upload, but just want to refine the game more).

PS: I only compiled it for windows since most of you don't care for the Linux or Mac version. If you want me to compile it for other version please let me know.

Project Zeus V1.1

It's been a while since I have written anything on this blog, and my so called Project Zeus has not new posts from its inception, so here is my 2nd post after a long time. My last post was on October 1st, so around 2 months since anything was updated here, most of you know that I have been busy lately. After my work it was the holiday season, and I felt I needed a bit of a break. A New Year, a new vision, a new story.

eSports - the promise of a future

"The idea that anything is killing eSports is nuts, eSports is growing out of control" - Dustin Browder

eSports, has been around for a while but it hasn't really been able to have the reach it is able to achieve now. eSports is a term to define the organization and conducting of video game tournaments. Well, it does sound like a dream job for many teenagers, and the sport generally consists of most young players, but the scene itself is being run by veteran players who have been here for more than a decade, and there are also a health set of older player in the scene to provide guidance of the younger players.
